Andar Bahar Pakistan: Simple Rules and How to Play

What is Andar Bahar?

Andar Bahar is a traditional Indian-subcontinent card game. "Andar" means inside and "Bahar" means outside. A single card, often called the joker or the middle card, is placed face up, and the round is about which side receives its match first.

There is no hand ranking to memorise, which is why it is a favourite first card game.

The basic rules

After the middle card appears, cards are dealt one at a time, alternating between Andar and Bahar. The first side to receive a card of the same rank as the middle card wins the round.

Rule details such as which side is dealt first can vary between versions, so read the notes shown with the game you choose.

Why outcomes cannot be predicted

Every card is drawn from a shuffled deck, so the result of each round is random. Looking at earlier rounds to "spot a pattern" does not help, because each round starts fresh.

Enjoy the speed, but do not mistake a short winning run for a system.
